Data Protection and Privacy Guidance

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will apply in the UK from 25th May 2018.  It is a piece of EU-wide legislation which will determine how people’s personal data is processed and kept safe.

It gives stronger rights for individuals regarding their own data, including:

  • How it is used,
  • Accessing their data,
  • Rectifying incorrect information,
  • Erasing data,
  • Restricting or objecting to use of their data.

At Broke Hall CP School we have produced Privacy Notice for pupils, parents and staff. These notices advise the individual:

  • why we collect data
  • what we will use the data for, and
  • what we will not use the data for.

We use the Information and Records Management Society’s toolkit for schools to inform how long we retain any data we collect.  Please click on the link above for more information.

The school, part of the Children's Endeavour Trust agreed a new GDPR Policy document in February 2020.  Please click on the link below to read the policy.
