Junior road safety officers

Children have the opportunity to apply for positions as Junior Road Safety Officers (JRSOs).  The group meets periodically to discuss issues surrounding school travel, road safety and the environmental impact of our travel choices.  The team, supported by teachers, the Suffolk County Council Road Safety staff and Modeshift, aims to educate the children, their families and the wider community about how to stay safe as a road user or pedestrian, the benefits of making healthier travel choices and the need to respect our school neighbours.  They do this through assembly presentations, competitions and awareness campaigns.

The year 2021-2022 saw the Junior Road Safety Officers receive the Gold Award for their work on promoting road safety and a video featuring our JRSOs and others from around the county can be viewed here:
